What is UCPW?
Under Construction Please Wait is a photography project created by Amber Hanemaaijer and Leonard Passchier. Everyone knows the concept of the 365 projects ( a picture everyday ), and a lot of people who are a bit in to photography has once started one of these. Most of the time people quit this one because they're doing it alone and forget about it or they just lack motivation. But! Now we're here! Different people make different art, everyday. You motivate eachother to continue your photography and search for the best artist in yourself.
Why 'Under Construction Please Wait'? What's in a name?
The creators were once chilling in a kitchen when they had this whole project written down on a piece of paper but couldn't think of a name. Amber was like: 'Ah well, let's call it Under Construction, we'll think about a name later!' But then there was this brainwave; OH MY GOD THIS IS BRILLIANT! And it was, because Leonard came up with a theory which said: 'Under construction, because your photography is ALWAYS under construction to become better and better'. So that's why. And because of the fact that we add new members and the blog updates everyday, so it's indeed always under construction.
Is it possible to join?
Of course it is! If you're an artist and your work is nice, you can send us an e-mail with your personal information, your motivation (why should we pick you) and a link to your work to underconstructionpleasewait@gmail.com and one of us will contact you!
Are there any photography 'rules'?
Not really. If you can keep up with one picture a day (don't underestimate this, it is pretty hard), then you are in. Also, horizontal pictures look the best on the blog, so keep that in mind. That's it.
